Tourism safety takes centre stage: SATSA champions security initiatives at NMB and PEMBBA member meeting

SATSA recently attended an industry meeting hosted by Discover Mandela Bay (DMB) and the Port Elizabeth Metro Bed and Breakfast Association (PEMBBA). With the height of summer just around the corner, the focus was on rallying industry members to ensure tourist safety and security.

SATSA outlined safety initiatives across the public and private sectors, including partnerships with local authorities to ensure a strong security presence in key tourist zones. The tourism industry is mobilising to protect visitors whilst ensuring they enjoy the very best of South Africa.

The meeting coincided with the opening of the cruise liner season, marked by the arrival of the Vasco da Gama earlier this week. The cruise season signals the start of what promises to be a vibrant summer for Nelson Mandela Bay's tourism sector. A key theme throughout the meeting was the commitment from the industry to ensuring travellers' safety this season.
