IMEX MPI MCI Future Leaders
Thank you to all the students from Institutions who attended the 2025 Future Leaders Forum at Meetings Africa. Seventeen Institutions were represented and about 60mstudents attended.
Congratulations to Ms Tharaga Fulufhelo Emre of the Vaal University of Technology on her winning presentation entitled "Sustainable Development and Housing Advocacy in Elias Motsoaledi Township”.
Ms Emre will represent Africa at the IMEX-MPI-MCI University Challenge in Frankfurt in May 2025. All the best to Ms Emre and the colleagues at VUT in preparation for the finals.

Call for Papers - Event Management Journal
A special issue is designed to allow studies focused on the African landscape to address the shortfall and broaden the scope of the published research from Africa. Furthermore, the editors believe that these African studies have the potential to provide insights and nuances for the benefit of the global event management academic community. Africa is becoming a critically important global region due to factors such as its economic growth potential, high population growth, and young, digitised population.

Routledge Handbook on Bleisure Travel & Tourism: Call for Chapters
The Routledge Handbook on Bleisure Travel and Tourism will be a novel contribution to the current conversations and debates related to bleisure (or business leisure) travel and tourism. These include the history and evolution of bleisure travel, profiles, destinations, infrastructure, trends, corporate understanding and support, best practices, and other related perspectives that will benefit the future development of this study area.

Call for Abstracts & TESA Scientific Committee: International Conference on Climate Resilience, Smart and Sustainable Futures (ICCRSF 202) in Johannesburg, South Africa, 25-29 August 2025
TESA support the ICCRSF 2025. The Annual AGM will be held during the conference, during which the new TESA EXCO will be elected. Please diarise this conference as there will be a dedicated TESA track.
If you are interested in joining the Scientific Committee for the TESA track, please send your details to Dr Konanani Twala (Konanani.Thwala@ump.ac.za). This is an ideal opportunity for develop research and gain valuable experience.

WTM Africa Education for Responsible Tourism Session Pre-Registration
WTM Africa has arranged a session on “Education for Responsible Tourism”. The purpose of the session is to discuss Responsible Tourism in the undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum and providing professional development and lifelong learning for professionals in tourism and hospitality. Therefore, this an opportunity to discuss with the ICRT.global and the ICRT Southern Africa the educational training needs in southern Africa.
