SATSA Launches Golf Chapter
We are excited to announce the launch of the new SATSA Golf Chapter, aimed at bringing together the golf tourism community to promote South Africa as a world-class golfing destination.
The Golf Chapter kick-started with its first virtual meeting on 23 February 2024, where members convened to shape the priorities, structure, and upcoming activities. Carl Reinders, co-owner of Pro Golf Africa Safaris, has been appointed as SATSA's Golf Chapter Chair.
Why a Golf Tourism Chapter?
Golf tourism is an increasingly lucrative segment, with golfers spending 120% more per person per day than the average tourist. By focusing collaborative efforts through this chapter, we can effectively showcase South Africa's exceptional golf offerings, leveraging our unique blend of world-class courses, hospitality, cultural experiences, gastronomy, wine, and safari adventures.
What's Next?
The Golf Chapter is working closely with South African Tourism (SAT) on strategic initiatives, including:
- Sponsoring a South African pavilion with 12 exhibitors at the International Golf Travel Market (IGTM) conference in Lisbon this October.
- Funding a destination presentation at IGTM to raise awareness.
- Organising a familiarisation trip for international golf tour operators and pros to experience our offerings first-hand.
- Producing a promotional video to showcase South Africa's golf tourism products.
