Creating Market Access: The Impact of SATSA’s Tourism LinkUp

When SATSA launched Tourism LinkUp earlier this year, the goal was simple: to create market access for credible, trade-ready member products and to strengthen connections between SATSA members, trade partners, and the wider tourism ecosystem.

Now, five months in, the campaign is showing real results. Week after week, we have profiled close to one-hundred-member offerings, from coastal adventures to bushveld safaris, boutique hotels to cultural tours, across Southern Africa. Each Tuesday, our mailers bring your products directly into the inboxes of tour operators, DMCs, and travel buyers.

 

What We’ve Learned

  • Diversity matters. Showcasing a wide mix of products has highlighted the richness of our membership, from established brands to emerging experiences in less-travelled regions.

  • Visibility drives results. Members have reported new enquiries because their business has been showcased in our newsletters and across our social media channels. 

  • Consistency builds trust. Regular features keep members top of mind with agents and buyers, ensuring exposure is ongoing rather than a once-off.
