SATSA congratulates Blue Wave Mobile Bar on a proud industry milestone, with co-founder and Sales and Operations Manager Themba Moyo named Beverage Professional of the Year: Mixologist of the Year at the 2nd FEDHASA Hospitality Awards.
The award was presented at the Mount Nelson Hotel in Cape Town on 15 April 2026 and recognises Themba’s 15 years of trained mixology experience, as well as the professionalism and growth behind Blue Wave Mobile Bar, a Johannesburg-based mobile cocktail bar celebrating its 10th year in business. Since its founding, Blue Wave has delivered more than 750 events, including 110 events in the past 12 months across Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and North West.
Blue Wave’s co-founder, Mamaitse Moyo, is a participant in the 2025 SATSA Tourism Business Incubator Programme, which supports emerging tourism and hospitality businesses through mentorship, industry access and practical business development. This recognition reflects the kind of entrepreneurial excellence and specialist services that contribute to a more dynamic and inclusive tourism economy.
“This award validates ten years of quiet, consistent work. Blue Wave has been building the South African mobile bar category since before it had a name. The industry has now formally recognised that,” said Themba Moyo, Sales and Operations Manager at Blue Wave Mobile Bar.
