SATSA played an active role at the recent Africa Travel Week 2024, part of WTM Africa. Our participation in key panel discussions underscored SATSA's unwavering commitment to addressing critical industry issues.

One Year Down the Line: Adventure Tourism Self-Regulation in Focus

 

SATSA's Adventure Chapter Chair, Andre du Toit, joined a panel discussion that explored the impact of the association's adventure tourism self-regulation initiatives. The panel, moderated by Natalia Rosa, CEO of Big Ambitions, also featured SATSA's CEO, David Frost, and Julia Louw, the Leisure Head of Tourism at Wesgro.

 

The discussion provided valuable insights into the successful implementation of SATSA's digital campaigns, adventure familiarisation trips, and the upcoming Adventure Summit – all aimed at promoting the industry's growth and engagement.

Restoring Confidence in Tourism with Tech-Driven Safety

 

In a separate panel, du Toit, Frost, and Rosa examined the critical role of safety and security in destination reputation. The conversation focussed on SATSA's safety initiatives, including the SECURA Traveller App, and how technology-driven solutions can enhance tourist safety and provide travellers with greater peace of mind.

 

The panel also highlighted the importance of integrating safety innovations with national tourism strategies, underscoring SATSA's collaborative approach.
