There have been some concerns from visitors regarding the water crisis in the Western Cape Province. The Province has been declared a disaster area, but there is no cause for panic. It was done in order to manage the drought situation, allow Government additional powers of intervention and accelerate a strategy to limit water usage and prevent wastage of this valuable natural resource.
The community, and specifically the tourism industry, is working closely with Government to preserve water supplies. Accommodation establishments are managing the situation carefully and many have implemented creative water-saving measures.
The region is still experiencing a great season in international tourism, offering visitors the same unique sights and sounds that Cape Town and the Western Cape have to offer.
SATSA and all its establishments are standing together to make sure we are making the best of the situation and working together on alleviation measures.
