Top level MICE conference for IBTM Africa

Thebe Reed Exhibitions is to deliver an Incentives, Business Travel & Meetings (IBTM) Africa conference as part of Africa Travel Week. It will take place on Friday 8 April at the Cape Town International Conference Centre, the same venue as World Travel Market (WTM) Africa.

Both exhibitors and attendees of Africa Travel Week, which includes International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) Africa, WTM Africa and IBTM africa, will have the opportunity to attend as the conference, which was planned following customer feedback that identified a need for a high quality, content driven education programme focused on business events.

Supported by the South African Association of Conferences & Incentives (SAACI), the conference will bring together key meeting planners from some of the leading South African corporates, association and agency buyers, plus suppliers from the meetings industry. Commenting on the partnership, Adriaan Liebetrau, SAACI CEO, said the association’s theme for the year was ‘with knowledge, it’s possible’. The conference would bring together thought leaders of the business events sector as well as allow delegates to collaborate on many different levels.

Over a full day, the invitation-only conference will provide access to learning from leading experts, with the afternoon session focused solely on Africa. The agenda will cover technology, future trends, procurement and consolidation, leveraging the current foreign exchange benefit and the convergence of the travel and meetings industry. Along with Libetrau, speakers will include Amanda Kotze-Nhlapo, Chief Convention Bureau Officer, South Africa Tourism (SAT) and Rashid Tofey, CEO, MCI South Africa.
