SATSA AGM - Record date and other important membership dates

SATSA will host its National AGM (Annual General Meeting) on the 11th of July 2019 at Wild Coast Sun. The AGM will be hosted in conjunction with the SATSA Conference and we are excited to celebrate our 50th AGM with you.

All Chapters will be required to host their AGMs prior to this. Once dates and venues have been confirmed members will receive invitations to their Chapter AGMs.

As per SATSA’s MOI (Memorandum of Incorporation), it is the duty of the Board of Directors to set the Record date for the organisation each year. Record date means the date established under section 59 of the Companies Act on which SATSA determines the identity of its Members and their voting rights.

During SATSA’s Board meeting in February 2019, the Record date was set as 31 March 2019. This means that any member who has not completed their annual online review (with supporting documents) and paid their SATSA 2019 membership fee, will not be able to vote at Chapter or National AGM.

We urge members to complete the annual review process ASAP. With SATSA being the mark of credibility in inbound tourism, it is critical for members to have completed their annual reviews to allow SATSA to fully endorse them.

Our Member Relationship Consultants are currently resending review notices to all members who have not responded. You are welcome to contact the SATSA office (reception@satsa.co.za) if you have not received your notice.

The SATSA Board further approved the following dates for non-complaint members:
• 1 July 2019 – Suspension of non-complaint members
• 1 August 2019 – Termination of non-compliant members

Please also note that member compliance statuses will be published on the SATSA website from April 2019.
