FEES, CONTRACTING AND VALIDITY

An extension have been granted and existing permits will now be valid until end July 2015 to accommodate the application process. Operators are requested to apply for new permits by end June to ensure processing before end July.

OSV Operators will contract directly with SATSA who implements the project on behalf of SANParks. Instead of a yearly Service Level Agreement, Operators now sign a five-year agreement

Key points include: 

  • Existing permits will be valid until end June 2015 to accommodate the application process. Operators are requested to apply for new permits by latest 15 June to ensure processing before end June.
  • Permit fees have been reduced to R5,700 per vehicle which will be payable to SATSA. SATSA members will receive a discount of R1,000 per permit.
  • Additionally a R25 per vehicle per entry will be charged to all OSV vehicles at An extension have been granted and existing permits will now be valid until end July 2015 to accommodate the application process.   • SANParks standard Wild Card rules and tiered pricing based on nationality will be applicable to any person on the Open Safari Vehicle: a daily conservation fee is payable unless the person holds a valid Wild Card. For overnight guests conservation fees are payable in advance for every night spent in the Park
  • A five-year Terms and Conditions Agreement will be signed between SATSA and the OSV Operators. This will be done via electronic signature to reduce paperwork and travel/postage requirements.
