This year Legend Hospitality Group is celebrating 20 years of providing authentic African experiences to travellers across the globe. Their portfolio encompasses the rich diversity of South Africa, her people, her languages, culture, breath-taking scenery and abundant bird, marine and wildlife. The group has provided sales and marketing as well as operational services to properties within their portfolio for many years, including safari and country lodges, coastal hotels, resorts, conference centres, spas and cultural villages in South Africa as well as Mozambique and Botswana.
As their partner in trade, you may know that Legend Golf & Safari Resort Operations (PTY) Ltd joined Legend Hospitality Group’s portfolio over a decade ago. At the time the development was registered under an operational company as well as a property development company. As is often the case, in a development of this size, certain changes in the business model are inevitable after a period of time. Legend Golf & Safari Resort Operations has been operating on a “rental pool” basis, like many other golf resorts and restructuring of the current rental pool model was needed.
As a result, the current operational entity, Legend Golf & Safari Resort Operations (PTY) Ltd, has been liquidated. The liquidation is however only applicable to the operational aspect of the entity and will not affect the property assets at all.
Legend Golf & Safari Resort intends to continue operating as a golf & safari destination of choice, offering legendary experiences to its guests, under a new “Operational Entity” which will be completed soonest. During this time period, the property has been closed for annual maintenance. Any changes to the rental pool arrangement by the homeowners will not have an impact on future hospitality operations and/or the MICE or leisure business. It is anticipated that the new rental pool structure should be finalized by July 2019, whereafter the changes should be implemented, in line with the next phase of the resort development.
As management company, Legend Hospitality Group is aware that the current situation has some administrative challenges and inconveniences to which they will endeavor to provide support and assistance where needed.
Therese Cilliers, Managing Director of the Legend Hospitality Group (Hotel Management Company of Legend Golf & Safari Resort) stated: “This process will in no way affect the Group or any other property within the Legend Hospitality Group portfolio, and we will continue to deliver legendary experiences to our guests, as we have done over the past 20 years.”
