Last month SATSA attended what was a very successful WTM Africa 2018!
This year we partnered with WTM Africa to host what ended up being one the biggest chapter meetings that SATSA has ever had with about 130 people in attendance. SATSA CEO, David Frost, spoke about maximising opportunities and unblocking obstacles faced by the industry. You can access this thought provoking presentation by clicking here
The Sports & Events Tourism Exchange (SETE) was held for the first time in conjunction with WTM Africa, where SETE hosted a full day conference in the Inspire Theatre. The aim was to educate and create discussions around this ever-changing and growing sector. As part SATSA’s efforts in golf tourism, David and Peter Dros (Fancourt), sat on the Golf Tourism panel, facilitated by John Robbie.
From a SATSA perspective, it was really great for us to be present as an association at the tradeshow. It provided an opportunity to connect with members from across the country, and we received over 35 enquiries from potential new members. We’re confident that our family and your network will grow with added value from new products.
In addition to this, 16 SATSA members also shared our stand and took advantage of this great market access platform. As part of transformation efforts and in partnership with WTM Africa, 10 black-owned businesses were selected to participate.
Well done to the organisers of the show and we look forward to WTM Africa 2019.
